Sylvain Muyali Mumbesa is a Media Development Entrepreneur and Regional Media Consultant from the Democratic Republic of Congo, with more than twenty years of experience supporting media and communications initiatives across Central and East Africa. His work spans the DRC, Rwanda, Uganda, Burundi, South Sudan, Central African Republic, Congo-Brazzaville, Angola, and Gabon.

As an entrepreneur in the media development sector, Sylvain designs and leads initiatives that strengthen local broadcasters, independent journalists, and media institutions. His expertise includes journalism capacity building, editorial support, production coordination, safety and ethics training, and cross-cultural collaboration in complex environments.

He has worked with leading international media organizations including BBC, Al Jazeera, National Geographic, Vice, and The Sunday Times, contributing to major reporting projects on governance, humanitarian response, conflict, development, and social transformation.

Through his entrepreneurial approach, Sylvain builds sustainable partnerships between local media actors and international platforms, ensuring that African stories are told with accuracy, context, and respect. His mission is to strengthen independent media as a foundation for accountability, peace, and inclusive development across the region.
